Ferriday — A Ridgecrest woman was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly slashing another woman’s face in a nightclub in Ferriday.
Lorraine Johnson, 34, 118 Grape St., was arrested on charges of aggravated second degree battery.
At 1:12 a.m., Johnson allegedly went into the TopCats Lounge and for unknown reasons attacked the victim with what appeared to be a boxcutter, Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison said.
The victim was a woman in her early-to-mid 20s.
“It was obvious (Johnson) wasn’t playing around,” Madison said. “If she had cut the victim two inches lower, it would have cut an artery in her neck and caused her to bleed out.”
The Ferriday Police will ask the district attorney to review the case to consider upgrading the charges, Madison said.
Johnson was held without bond Friday afternoon.
