RIDGECREST — A Ferriday man was killed Monday when his motorcycle struck a car on U.S. 84.
State police responded to the accident at 12:11 p.m.
Marvin G. Cutrer, 51, of Ferriday, was thrown from his three-wheeled 1981 Honda motorcycle when it collided with a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Heaven Ray, 18, of Saucier, Louisiana State Police Public Affairs Officer Scott Moreau said.
Cutrer was taken to Natchez Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident happened in mile 179 of U.S. 84.
Ray was reportedly pulling onto U.S. 84 from a private driveway when the collision occurred, Moreau said.
One passenger in the Chevrolet Lumina received minor injuries.
A witness at the scene said Ray’s line of vision might have been blocked by an 18-wheeler parked on the side of the road at the time of the accident.
The truck was not on the scene when state troopers arrived to investigate.
The Concordia Parish Coroner’s Office will investigate the matter to determine the cause of death, and routine toxicology tests are pending.
