Vidalia — The Vikings have their work cut out for them when they travel to Monroe Friday night to face Ouachita Christian School in a non-district game.
Vidalia squeaked by Block last week, scoring twice in the final three minutes of the game to win 14-6.
OCS is going to be some stiff competition said Vidalia coach Dee Faircloth.
Last week, OCS looked impressive in a 26-7 win over Mangham.
“They just dropped down to 1A,” Faircloth said. “But they have always been one of the top teams in North Louisiana.”
Two backs for Vidalia, Jeremy Randall and Lamack Bates, are still recovering from ankle problems.
“Anytime you have an ankle injury, it takes a while to fully recover.” Faircloth said.
Against Block, the Vikings had 10 fumbles and lost six of them.
“The offensive line is going to have to step it up this week,” Faircloth said.
One of the strong points for Vidalia last week was the defense.
They held the Block offense to just six points.
On the OCS side of things, quarterback Jacob Davis passed for over 200 yards versus Mangham and rushed for over 100.
“He’s hard to stop on the run.” Faircloth said.
