BASTROP, La. — Trinity’s hopes of making the playoffs took a big hit Tuesday afternoon as the Lady Saints lost to the Prairie View Academy Lady Spartans 9-2 in a key MPSA District 3-AA game.

With the loss, Trinity dropped to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in district play. Now the Lady Saints will have to beat ACCS at home Thursday afternoon and at Riverfield next Monday and have some luck to be one of the three teams from this district to play in the Class A South State Tournament.

Trinity took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Prairie View scored three runs in the bottom of the first. After the top of the third inning, the Lady Spartans led 3-2 but scored two runs each in the final three innings to put the game away.
