VICKSBURG — Services for Sadye Mell Crawford, 70, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at House of Peace and Worship Church with the Rev. Linda Sweezer officiating.
Burial will follow at Vicksburg City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Washington was born April 2, 1937, in Cary, the daughter of George Crawford and Sake Crawford. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi Valley State College and her master’s degree in education from Alcorn State University. She was a former educator with the Natchez-Adams School District, having retired in 1992 after 33 years of service. She was a Baptist and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband, Mack Washington.
Survivors include her godchild, Rilecia Swayze of Jackson and many, many friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
