NATCHEZ — Services for Mattie R. Stinespring, 86, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stinespring was born July 7, 1921, in Delhi, La., the daughter of Cliff Ragsdale and Ima Lee Dow Ragsdale. She was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. She loved cooking, quilting and doing for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Edgar Lewis; her husband, Henry Stinespring; her brother, James Lewis; and her son-in-law, Bobby Jones.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Kay Jones of Natchez; granddaughter Tabitha Anna Johnson and husband Shane, both of Natchez; great-grandson Colby A. Johnson of Natchez; sisters Lucille Grantham Day of Natchez; and Ruby Roden of Pensacola, Fla.; brother J.W. Ragsdale of Jackson; sister-in-law Mildred Lewis of Ocala, Fla.; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Cliff Temple Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
