This week, it’s H.O.G. heaven

Predictions are that close to a million dollars will turn over in our community as a result of this weekend.
No, a major industry hasn’t decided to start production. The second casino isn’t here yet. And there aren’t massive sales at Wal-Mart.
The source of the million? Harleys.
The Harley Owner’s Group is making a return trip to Natchez for its annual rally.
Somewhere between 500 and 1,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles are expected in town this weekend. Enthusiasts began arriving Thursday afternoon and registering at the convention center.
And for the next three days these Harley owners will be eating, sleeping and spending here.
Every dollar the bikers spend will turn over a few more times in our community, equaling the million local leaders are predicting.
So, welcome H.O.G.s!
We are glad to have you in our fair city. We hope the weather stays nice, and we’ll be glad to offer directions to any local attractions.
Conventions like this one are the ones Natchez needs to attract. Sure, motorcycles can be noisy, but if you tune your ears correctly you won’t hear revving engines, but the cha-ching of local cash registers. And that’s a sound we’ll gladly embrace.
