WCCA quiets Cougars

WINNSBORO, La. — Cody Cullen and Trumaine Norwood combined for 414 yards rushing on 49 carries and six touchdowns to lead the WCCA Rams to a 40-22 come-from-behind win over the Franklin Academy Cougars in District 6-A action Friday night.
Cullen had 25 carries for 218 yards and two touchdowns while Norwood had 24 carries for 196 yards and four touchdowns.
WCCA (3-2, 2-2) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and stayed in the lead until the 7:55 mark of the third quarter when Caleb Haring caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Nick Williams and Williams ran in for the two-point conversion to give the Cougars a 22-21 lead.
That would be the only lead Franklin Academy would end up having.
Silliman 31, ACCS 0
CLINTON, La. — Turnovers continued to plague ACCS as the Rebels threw three interceptions and lost two fumbles as they fell to the Wildcats Friday night to fall to 0-5 overall. Silliman improved to 2-2 overall.
Centreville Academy 39, Columbia Academy 0
COLUMBIA — Kyle Brown had another solid game for Centreville as he threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns to lead Class A’s fifth-ranked team to an easy win over the still-winless Cougars.
River Oaks 41, Tensas Academy 12
ST. JOSEPH, La. — Zach Scogin and Jamar Owens each ran for two touchdowns as the Mustangs scored the final 20 points of the game to pull away from a pesky Chiefs team Friday night.
Mitch Lansing led Tensas (2-3) on the ground with 43 yards on three carries and one touchdown. Schauf completed 10 of 20 passes for 138 yards.
