NATCHEZ – Services for Reese R. Vines, 69, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Central Mississippi Medical Center, in Jackson, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Rev. Bart Walker officiating.
Burial will be at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Vines was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Woodville, the son of David Daniel and Nellie Elizabeth Wesberry Vines. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Brandon Tyler Walker; sisters, Doris Delsar McKlemurry, Mildred Elizabeth Dover, Hazel Virginia Vance and Julia Anne Vines; brothers, Hamilton Hardwick Vines, William James Vines, John Mason Vines and Mack Emerson Vines
Survivors include his wife, Opal A. Vines; daughters, Sandra V. Ellard and husband, Mike, and Julia Ann “Teli” Walker and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Caleb Walker, Andrew Ellard, Kate Ellard, and Marty Ellard; sisters, Elmer Carmel DeVille and Ida Bell Sproles; brothers, Gordon Davis Vines, Joe Hamilton Vines, David Leroy Vines, Malcolm Monette Vines and George Christopher Vines.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ellard, Andrew Ellard, Jerry Walker, Caleb Walker, George Vines and Edward Ramshur.
Honorary pallbearers will be Department 5 Sunday School Class at Parkway Baptist Church, Carriage Drivers of Southern and Magnolia Carriage Companies.
