Green Wave must stop Bobcats

NATCHEZ — Cathedral looks to get back in the win column tonight as they travel Bogue Chitto to take on the undefeated Bobcats.

The Green Wave defense will have to step up in order to slow down a bigger Bobcat team.

“They have big offensive linemen,” Cathedral head coach Craig Beesley said. “The key to stopping them is slowing down their quarterback.”

Beesley said his linebackers have to play down hill and make the big plays.

“All of our losses are by a touchdown or a few points,” he said. “Our guys are learning they can’t take plays off. It’s something we have to continue getting better at.”

Beesley said their focus this week for offense was getting their timing right on the passing game.

“We are getting guys open but not making throwing the pass at the right time,” Beesley said.

He said they would mix it up against Bogue Chitto.

“We can’t let them key on one thing,” Beesley said. “We have added some runs plays to help that.”

He said they have to continue to play hard and play with intensity.

“Our thing is we are not stepping up in pressure situations,” Beesley said. “That is one thing that has to change for us to win.”
