FAYETTE – Services for Virgie Lee “Tackie” Hoye Plummer, 73, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Saturday at Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.
Burial will be Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Plummer was born March 20, 1934, in Church Hill, the daughter of Elliot Hoye and Anna Elizabeth Morris Hoye. She was a member of Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Church where she served as an usher, a missionary and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the LF and C Society, WPIA Junior Society and the United Friends Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Freddie Plummer Sr., son, Freddie Plummer Jr. and daughters, Barbara Plummer and Gladys Plummer Oliver.
Survivors include a grandson, Damarris Oliver of Natchez; great-granddaughters, Kyla and Kyra Singleton, both of Natchez; nieces, Johnnie Mae Thompson and Geraldine Guice, both of Fayette and Pearley Mae Sanders and husband, Herbert, of Chicago; nephews, John Ware Sr. and Donail Ware, both of Natchez and Monroe Ware of Las Vegas; a number of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
