FAYETTE — Just when it looked like Jefferson County was going to remain undefeated and be a serious contender in Region 7-3A, South Pike made sure that wasn’t going to happen.
Tevin Martin’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Turner with three seconds left in the fourth quarter gave the Eagles an 18-14 come-from-behind win over the Tigers Friday night.

TYLERTOWN — A missed extra point by Franklin County’s Jace Carlock and a 9-yard touchdown pass from Jameon Lewis to Cladarrius Jefferson with 5 seconds left proved to be the difference as the Chiefs upset the Bulldogs Friday night.

JONESVILLE — Despite a couple of touchdown runs by John Bloodsaw, the Bears came up a couple of two-point conversions short of getting their first win of the season.

PINEVILLE, La. — The Lions’ defense had no answer for Tensas quarterback Bennett Schauf, who threw for 160 yards and touchdown and ran for four touchdowns as the Chiefs improved to 3-1 in MPSA District 6-A.
Schauf completed five of 10 passes with Mitch Lansing having all five of those catches. Schauf also had 11 carries for 58 yards for Tensas, which improved to 3-3 overall under first-year head coach Joe Coats.
Tensas led just 10-8 after one quarter of play, but outscored Cenla Christian 44-12 the final three quarters. Hunter Hale led the running game with 11 carries for 106 yards and one touchdown while Jim Lentz had 73 yards rushing on 17 carries.
