TWENTY YEARS AGO — Kevin Blue and Bill McMahon team up to finish with a two-day score of 119, three shots ahead of Peter and Clay Arnold and four shots head of Tom Matthews and Phillip West, to win the championship flight of the Cathedral Fall Festival Golf Tournament.
TEN YEARS AGO — Natchez High wide receiver Marco Minor, who had 129 yards and a touchdown in a 50-0 win over Murrah, and Cathedral running back Matt Sandel, who had 150 yards rushing in a 21-7 win over St. Aloysius, are The Natchez Democrat’s Co-Players of the Week.
FIVE YEARS AGO — After throwing four interceptions in his first NFL start a week earlier, Detroit rookie quarterback Joey Harrington throws for 267 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions on 20-of-36 passing as the Lions hold on to defeat the New Orleans Saints 26-21.
