VIDALIA – Services for Charles Ray “Red” Holmes, 81, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Glenburney Healthcare, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Holmes was born May 23, 1926, in McComb, the son of Oliver Roy Holmes and Thelma Walker Holmes. He was employed as a forman at International Paper Company for 37 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Holmes of Vidalia; sons, Chuck Holmes of Mims, Fla. and Kelly Holmes of Vidalia; special family friends, Jeff and Jenny Nestor; sisters-in-law, Ioma Winkle and husband, O.T., both of Yantis, Texas and Lavada Keith and husband, Dick, both of Magnolia, Ark.; and brother-in-law, Roy L. Hust of Bossier City.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Johnny Martin, Earl Pyle, Michael Brown, Trey Jones, Clay Ferguson and Jerry Geter .
Honorary pallbearers will be the board ofdirectors of Old South Federal Credit Union and the Mississippi Credit Union League.
