TWENTY YEARS AGO — Two days after calling the plays as head coach at Ehret High School, John Fourcade throws for 222 yards and three touchdowns, including an 82-yarder to tight end Mike Waters, the longest TD pass in team history, as New Orleans defeats the Los Angeles Rams 37-10.

TEN YEARS AGO — Despite not having his best passing game, Herb Tyler throws a 13-yard touchdown pass to Larry Foster and Kenny Mixon blocks an extra point with 12 seconds left as the No. 13 LSU Tigers escape with a 7-6 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Tony Hawkins throws for 104 yards and runs for a touchdown, Roderick Randall has two touchdown runs and Vidalia’s defense limits Buckeye to just 76 total yards of offense as Vikings shut out their second straight opponent, this time over the Panthers 37-0.
