NATCHEZ — Jeff Edwards has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat as sports editor.

Edwards comes to Natchez from Meridian where he was assistant sports editor at the Meridian Star.

He is a 2005 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism. He is a native of Florence, Ala.

Edwards also worked as sports editor at The Neshoba Democrat in Philadelphia after college.

He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, daughters Payton, 3, and Hannah, 9 months.

In his spare time Edwards enjoys golf and bowling.
