Cathedral coach Craig Beesley knew his team would need to slow down Jason McNair if they had any chance of upsetting Mount Olive, and for the first half they did just that. Unfortunately for the Green Wave, they still had another 24 minutes to play. The Pirates scored two quick third quarter touchdowns to turn a 6-0 game at the half into a 33-6 runaway.
