Vidalia close, but not close enough to defeat Bunkie

bunkie — The Vidalia Vikings couldn’t hang on to a 8-7 halftime lead losing 21-14 to the Bunkie Panthers.
The game remained scoreless until the last minute of the first half when Bunkie scored of 1-yard run by quarterback Kendrick Leary.
Vidalia struck back with 16 seconds left when Trey Barnes hooked up with Beau Doughty on a 30-yard pass and converted the 2-point conversion.
The Vikings extended their lead in the third with an 83-yard punt return by Kevin Johnson.
Bunkie answered in the fourth scoring 14 unanswered points.
“Fumbles killed us,” Vidalia head coach Dee Faircloth said.
Vidalia lost two of their five fumbles.
Vidalia fell to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in district.
“We have a lot to do before next week,” Faircloth said.
Vidalia host Marksville next Friday at 7 p.m.
