NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was reportedly beaten with a baseball bat and robbed Wednesday afternoon.

Chad Williams, 33, 1389 Martin Luther King Jr. Road, was apparently walking down Miller Street, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.

“Two adults and possibly a juvenile approached him on the road, struck him with a bat, and took his money,” Mullins said.

Williams made his way to an acquaintance’s house, LaJune Robinson’s house at 2744 Miller Ave.

“He ran over here to get help and fell out on our porch,” Robinson said “He was bleeding out his mouth and nose. He was saying he couldn’t see. That was his biggest complaint. He was in and out of consciousness.”

Robinson said she did not know Williams’ reported attackers.

Robinson, her husband, along with Deshonda and Jameka Calhoun, put ice on Williams’ wounds.

“He had a small gash on his head, and his knees and hands were scratched up,” Jameka Calhoun said. “He was in pretty scarred up. He had three seizures before the ambulance got here.”

Williams was transported by AMR ambulance to Natchez Regional Medical Center.

“He was conscious and talked to officers,” Mullins said. “He appears to have bruises on his back, shoulders and head.”

Calhoun said the three saw Williams running a short time before he came to their house.

“We saw him running and were wondering why,” she said.

The reported attackers and Williams probably knew each other, Mullins said.

No arrests have been made.

The case is still under investigation, Mullins said.
