TWENTY YEARS AGO — ACCS running back/linebacker Darian Smith is named The Natchez Democrat’s Player of the Week after rushing for 115 yards on 20 carries, including the game-winning score on a 10-yard run in the Rebels’ 14-8 win over the Amite School Center Rebels.

TEN YEARS AGO — Ashton Roth’s first interception leads to Von Hutchins’ 20-yard touchdown pass to Barr Biglane and a blocked punt by Stephen Michel leads to Hyde Carby’s 17-yard touchdown run as the Cathedral Green Wave roll to a 48-26 win over the Enterprise Yellow Jackets.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Huntington fast-pitch seniors Lauren Wagoner and Tiffany Ferguson and head coach Michael McAnally will represent the Lady Hounds at the MPSA All-Star Game, but Centreville head coach Kenny Jackson has to decline the invitation due to work restraints.
