NATCHEZ – Services for Roger Lee “Roy Lee” Givens Sr., 47, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Hines officiating.

Burial will follow at Pry Temple Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Givens was born Aug. 8, 1960, in Adams County, the son of Emma Givens and Dumas Hawkins. He was educated in the Natchez-Adams School District and was employed as a skilled laborer.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Debra Givens Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife, Torri G. Givens; mother, Emma Givens; son, Roger Givens Jr.; sisters, Linda Blanton, Minnie Morris and Dorothy Bates, all of Natchez, and Sharon Hawkins of Jackson; brothers, Dewitt “June” Givens of Biloxi, Jerry Givens and wife, Shirley, and Maurice Hawkins, all of Natchez, Larry Givens and wife, Cora, and Charles Williams, all of Atlanta; aunts, Elizabeth Dunmore of Natchez and Lamartz Whitley of St. Louis; uncle Percy Bernard of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be brothers and nephews.
