Incumbent Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell won the primary, and thus the election, by 22 votes, according to parish unofficial results released tonight.

Maxwell won 50.15 percent of the vote. Challenger Glenn Lipsey won 49.85 percent of the vote.
