FERRIDAY – Services for Abron Wade Jr., 51, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Wade was born June 2, 1956, in Ferriday, the son of Abron Sr. and Alice Moore Wade. He was employed as an insurance agent.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his son, Marquise Brown of Ferriday; brothers, Andrew Howard Jr. and wife, Barbara, both of Ferriday, Delbert Howard of Chicago and Elton Wade Sr. and wife, April, both of Natchitoches, La.; sisters, Verna Whitley-Batiste of Vidalia and Wanda J. Wade of Tacoma, Wash.; devoted companion, Marilyn Brown of Ferriday; aunts, Maude Randon of Compton, Calif., Geraldine Bowman of Los Angeles, Clara Washington of Las Vegas and Hattie Slack of Victorville, Calif.; uncle, Johnny Moore of Morgonton, N.C.; and great-aunts, Audrey Franklin and Amelia Smith of Vidalia.
