BROOKHAVEN – Services for J.D. “Busta” Washington, 85, of Brookhaven, who died Friday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Silver Cross Nursing Home, in Brookhaven, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Center Street Church of Christ with the Rev. Winfred Frazier officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, in Brookhaven, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Brookhaven.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Washington was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Lincoln County, the son of Joseph Washington and Helen Buie Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Annie Bell Harris; brothers, Fred McDaniel, R.C. Scott and T.J. Washington.

Survivors include his sisters, Josephine Tucker, Anna Marie Allen and Gazell Thomas; brothers, Leonard Washington and wife, Betty, Eddie Washington and wife, Evelyn, Otis Washington and wife, Maxine, and Robert Lee Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
