National 4-H Week was celebrated in grand fashion once again at Vidalia Upper. The week began with painting members faces with the grand 4-H clover. Special thanks to Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Vines, Mrs. Moffett, and Mrs. Nelson for their lovely paint jobs. On Tuesday members dressed like their favorite teachers. Spirit was rampant on campus. There were several Ms. Ganeys spotted on campus. Thursday members wore green. It was great to see 109 fourth-grade members sporting their green for the meeting. On Friday students painted their hair green to end the week. Thanks again to Mrs. Yarborough and Mrs. Nelson for the great spray jobs. Members also supplied special treats for the teachers all week.

Mr. Joe presented information regarding upcoming events. Members also worked on some pages in their 4-H books. Thanks Mr. Joe for getting it started. We discussed products that are grown or made in Louisiana. Members assisting in the presentation were Morgan Mulvihill, Pate Shirley, Gabby Morace, Nia Smith and Chris Toney.

Members were reminded of the pumpkin decorating contest, water picture contest, and the catch a phrase for camp. The meeting was adjourned by Isrell Cage and Blake Sanders.

4-H members at Vidalia Upper Elementary attended an officer’s workshop on Oct. 10. Mr. Joe called the meeting to order. He served snacks. Members played a get to know you game. The officers were grouped according to office and Mr. Joe, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Yarborough, Callie Dallalio, Emma Hutchins and Mrs. Moffett worked with the small groups to prepare them for the jobs the were selected to do. After members went over officer responsibilities they had a mock 4-H meeting.
