Mullins takes Concordia Bass Tourney

VIDALIA — The Concordia Bass Club of Vidalia held their October event on a 64-66 degree Turkey Creek near the town of Wisner. The air temperature climbed to 72 under a bluebird sky with a strong afternoon breeze though the huge cypress trees.

Winner James Mullins fooled 16.03 pounds of bass which included a quality bite of 5.11. Clyde Morace had 15.98 for second (4.37 qb), third was Tim Houghton with 14.85 (3.98qb), Theodore Walker was fourth with a 13.67 and fifth was Randy Pitre with 12 pounds.

The late fall day for 24 anglers produced eight hefty bass over 3.5 pounds.

Also weighing fish were: sixth, John (Team Go-Mart) Bruce (11.72 with 6.35qb); seventh, Alonzo Walker (10.38, 4.38qb); eighth, Danny (Team Triton) Smith (9.90); ninth, Mark Morace (9.81); tenth, Jimmy Hodges 9.55 (6.90 daily lunker and progressive lunker of the year).

ROBERTS WINS BBC

The Brookhaven Bass Club of the Lincoln County area held its 11th event of the year Oct. 27 on Black River Lake under a cool bluebird sky. The 13 anglers weighed 58 bass with 10 limits and no zips.

Jimmy Roberts won with 5 for 9.43 pounds while Heath Willard fooled 5 keepers at 9.25 for second; third was Steve Guidry with 5 for 8.62. Others with fish were: Kevin Case (8.37), Stacey Guidry (8.18 and 3.18 lunker), Chip Gennaro (8.00), Buddy French (7.87), Jeff Covington (7.81), Jeff Greenlee (5.75), Toby Johnson (4.87), Jerry Stubbs (3.50), Tim Stogner (3.07) and Butch Copeland (1.87).
