FERRIDAY – Services for Vernell “Smokey” Webster, 37, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Metro General Hospital, in Nashville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Baptist Church, on Skipper Road, with the Rev. Charles Minor officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Webster was born July 1, 1970, in Natchez, the son of Leola Webster and Jimmy Turner. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1993.
Survivors include his mother, Leola Webster of Vidalia; brother, Litedel Webster and wife, Tammy, both of Nashville; sisters, Bretta Webster of Vidalia and Jerrylon Webster of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
