NATCHEZ — Services for Jimmy Newton Pruitt Sr., 69, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Gaylon Dawson officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pruitt was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Tutwiler, the son of James Edward and Grace Hokett Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Sauls.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Pruitt of Natchez; daughters, Denora White of Jackson, Ann Lynnett Holcomb of Mesquite, Texas, Regina Pruitt and Chrissie Pruitt, both of Natchez; sons, Jimmy L. Pruitt and J.J. Pruitt, both of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Waters, Aubrey Storey, Jimmy Pruitt III, Tony Duplechim, Samuel Pruitt, Candace Duplechim, Kayla Pruitt and Larra Pruitt; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Pruitt of Bloomfield, N.M.

Pallbearers will be Jack Blaney, Lonnie Hughes, Larry Pruitt, Cliff Williams, Frank Hoy and David Murray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Wheat, Roy Waycaster, Eddie Johnson, Robert Clark and Willie Powell.
