WILDSVILLE — A Wildsville woman died early Saturday morning when she lost control of her car on Louisiana 565.
Micah S. Leblanc, 33, was driving her Honda CRV south on Louisiana 565 when, at 1:25 a.m., she lost control of her vehicle and ran off the left side of the road, according to a statement issued by Louisiana State Police.
Her vehicle then collided with a mound of dirt, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.
Leblanc was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from her vehicle, the statement says. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Concordia Parish Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Routine toxicology tests are pending.
LeBlanc was a dispatcher for the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and previously a nurse in Alexandria.
Funeral services will be Tuesday in Wildsville.
Troop E police have investigated a total of 64 fatal crashes so far this year, which resulted in 70 fatalities.
