Miss-Lou can give thanks a little early

The last week before the true holiday rush begins brought several good headlines to the Miss-Lou.
Let’s review some of the good news from last week:
Longtime Red Cross volunteer Angie Brown has taken the helm at the local chapter as director. Brown was a key player in the Red Cross’ response during Hurricane Katrina, and we know she truly loves the organization.
It’s great to see a local leader in place, and we know the organization can get on track quickly.
Louisiana Elastomer officials were in town this week to finalize the paperwork on a grant the Vidalia rubber plant hopes to receive. The company’s leaders said the project is on its way, and that they’ll soon begin hiring employees. The rubber plant will be a great industrial addition to our area, and we are happy Vidalia recruited it.
Make a Wish has granted the wish of area child Olivia David. David and her family will soon be traveling to Disney World to take their minds off the medical conditions the 6-year-old struggles with daily. This national agency has made dreams come true for hundreds of children.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we know this week will be filled with many reasons to be thankful.
