NATCHEZ – Services for Rebecca S. “Becky” Kirby, 76, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Marc Mihail officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kirby was born May 30, 1931, in Hazlehurst, the daughter of Henry James and Elizabeth Singletary Simmons. She retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company with 30 years of service. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting and church work. She was a member of the Women’s Circle at Lovely Lane Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick Kirby; and brother, Charles Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Richard N. Kirby; sons, Stan Kirby, Kent Kirby and wife, Dianne, all of Natchez; granddaughter, Sarah Kirby of Flowood; grandson, Sam Kirby; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kirby, both of Deatsville, Ala.; sister, Nell Allred and husband, Maurice, both of Los Angeles; brother, James Simmons and wife, Shirley, both of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grady Boykin, Jim Cotten, Donald Gardner, Robert Lewis, Billy Key Smith, Mike Depta, Trey Isbell, Irvin Garrett and grandson, Sam Kirby.
