NATCHEZ — Services for Joy G. Parker, 80, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Natchez, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John Larson officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Parker was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Port Gibson, the daughter of Samuel Pinkney Gore and Ruth Morgan Gore. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and Pilgrimage Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick C. Parker Sr.; daughter, Priscilla Hobson; and brother, S.P. Gore.
Survivors include a son, Frederick C. Parker Jr. and wife, Shannon, both of Natchez; grandchildren, John K. Hobson, Frederick Stacy Parker and Samuel B. Parker; nieces, Margaret Baunach and Liz Parker; nephew, Sammy Gore; and special friend, Nita Delancey.
Pallbearers will be Keith Benoist, Brett Orth, John K. Hobson, Keith Walden, Frederick Stacy Parker and Gary Caldwell.
Honorary pallbearer will be Sammy Gore.
The family extends a special thank you to Kandi Wiley and the staff at Adams County Nursing Center and the staff at Internal Medicine Associates.
