Holidays bring area good news

On the 22nd day of Christmas my true love gave to me …
Christmas starts earlier every year, it seems, but with only 22 days to go, the time is right to celebrate.
And that’s something the Miss-Lou knows how to do.
With the Christmas season in full force, the good news is rolling in the area. Let’s review a few good headlines from last week.
4 The Christmas party got started right Friday afternoon when the City of Natchez officially lit up the Main Street Christmas tree. The celebration serves to unify the whole community for a few moments of joy and some good songs from local performers.
4 Ferriday continued the joy Saturday with its Christmas parade. Parades in each Miss-Lou community exhibit great work and effort by various groups, all in the spirit of creating smiles on the faces of children.
4 And, also in Ferriday, residents of Macon Ridge Community Development’s elderly housing units can expect some exciting changes in the coming months. The agency is the recipient of an AT&T Excelerator grant for $23,000. The money will be used to install computer labs for residents to use.
We are glad to hear that a group previously not accustomed to the e-mail era is about to experience it for free.
Twenty-two days remain, are you ready?
