JACKSON — Services for John Cecil Weaver, 80, of Jackson, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident in Copiah County, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Weaver was born in Hope, Ark. He graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a degree in petroleum geology. He was an independent petroleum geologist. He spent his life doing what he loved, drilling for oil. To him, this was not just working, but a hobby as well.
He attended First Baptist Church of Jackson. He was a loving father of two, and his grandchildren were very special to him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Weaver.
Survivors include sons Gregg Weaver and wife Jennifer, both of Brandon, and Mike Weaver of Jackson; grandchildren John Nelson Weaver of Brandon and Kristy Weaver Holland and husband Mike, both of Denver; and his very special friend, Helen Holladay of Jackson.
