New York Christmas headed to Natchez

Natchez — The Natchez Council for Arts and Culture will present a series of holiday musical performances by three of New York’s outstanding musicians Dec. 7-9 in Natchez.
Performing will be David Shenton, Erin Shields and John Tsotsoros. Shenton is an accomplished pianist, violinist, composer and arranger. He has been a regular accompanist at The Royal Opera House. Shields operatic and classical performances include soloist in the Glass Menagerie’s performance of Vivaldi’s Magnificat.
Tsotsoros has performed to critical acclaim in the leading operatic role of Fenton in Falstaff. He has also performed at The Natchez Opera Festival.
The first event, Friday, December 7 will be a concert –luncheon noon at Monmouth Plantation. This will feature the best of Broadway tunes and standards. At 7 p.m. a Christmas performance and cocktail party will be held at Stanton Hall featuring an evening of classical music.
Saturday’s performance is from at 10 until 11 a.m. at St. Mary Basilica. This will be a tribute to St. Mary on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception. From 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. a Cottage Gardens Tea is scheduled and will feature light-hearted selections from the worlds of opera, spiritual favorites and musical theater.
Sunday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. a Magnolia Hall brunch will be held featuring Holiday melodies.
