Daisy Rawlings

NATCHEZ – Services for Daisy Mae Thornburg Rawlings, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her residence, will be at noon today at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rawlings was born in Natchez, the daughter of Neal and Selma Bell Thornburg. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a Baptist. Mrs. Rawlings had worked in restaurant management and was an assistant fashion designer. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles C. Rawlings; sisters, Dorothy Abraham, Ruth Moore, Mary Sylvester, Viola Thornburg, Frances Anderson and Rebecca Williams; and brothers, Neal Thornburg and wife, Claudia, Ernest Thornburg, Alvin Thornburg and Frederick Thornburg.
Survivors include her sister, Helen Curtis; brothers, Luther Thornburg and wife, Georgia, both of Natchez, Willie Richardson of Clayton and Eddie Thornburg of Leland; a stepson she raised as her own, Charles Rawlings Jr.; niece, Angela Tenner, Lazenda Abraham, Shirley Smith and husband, Harold, Audrey Birdon and husband, Emmitt, and Felice Davis and husband, Ike, all of Natchez; great-nieces and nephews, Kaldrick and DaVesia Tenner and Frederick Hauer; special friends, Calvin Rollins and Kayla Minor; and a number of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
