Dismissing Dec. 5th’s tragic episode on Marquette Street as a mere “leash law violation” trivializes a disgraceful failure of justice that tacitly validates a debased culture of cruelty and violence.

All of the dogs were victims, even the pit bulls — especially the pit bulls.

Their owner pays a petty fine, perhaps serves a token jail sentence, acquires more innocent animals and soon resumes his sadistic business.

Shameful.
