Trinity trips up Centreville in OT

CENTREVILLE — Four quarters wasn’t enough to determine a winner between Trinity and Centreville.

The two teams battled through an extra period before the Saints came out on the winning end of a 93-86 overtime decision.

Trinity (10-2) led 45-33 at halftime and upped its lead to 18 points in the third quarter.

However, Centreville went on a 15-0 run to cut into the lead and would eventually tie the game late and send it to overtime knotted at 82.

However, Trinity regrouped in the extra period to outscore the Tigers 11-4 and take the victory.

Trinity’s Matthew Freeman led all scorers with 35 points while Brandon Daggs scored 24 and Andrew Johnson chipped in with 14.

All five of Centreville’s starters scored in double figures, led by Kyle Brown with 23 points.

Cade Lockwood scored 21, Jamie Dezendorf scored 18, Brad Jelks had 14 and Adam Perry scored 10 in the loss.

Cathedral boys 62, Resurrection 28

PASCAGOULA — The Cathedral Green Wave wasted no time in putting their foot down and running away with their district game against Resurrection.

The Green Wave (10-2, 2-0) jumped out to a 27-12 halftime lead and never looked back in the romp.

Juan Gray led the way for Cathedral with 20 points and six assists while Andy Lucas and Charles Lee both scored eight points.

Resurrection was led by Trey Anderson with 15 points.

Wilkinson Co. boys 56, Amite County 34

Wilkinson County led only 14-13 after one quarter, but outscored Amite Coutny by 21 points the remainder of the game to pull away for the victory Saturday evening.

Kenny Hardin led Wilkinson County with 18 points while Corey Anthony scored 14 and Megal Covington added 10 in the victory.

Trinity girls 46, Centreville 32

Trinity opened up a 26-11 halftime lead over Centreville and never looked back in a 14-point win Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Saints (12-4) used the big halftime advantage to coast to victory in the second half, despite being outscored in the final 16 minutes.

Caroline Ketchings led Trinity with 18 points while Brandy Hall added 13 for the Lady Saints.

Centreville was led by Amber Addington, who scored 11 points while Erin Gaulden chipped in with nine.

Cathedral girls 62, Resurrection 29

The Cathedral Lady Wave almost duplicated the score of the boys game with a 33-point romp over Resurrection.

The Lady Wave led 31-18 at halftime and outscored Resurrection 31-11 in the second half.

Kristian Dobard led Cathedral with 23 points while Mae Durkin chipped in with 10 points.

Resurrection was led by Iris Hardman with 15 points.
