NATCHEZ — Several Cathedral Green Wave football players were honored for their accomplishments in the 2007 season.

Eight Green Wave players were selected to the MHSAA Region 4-1A All-Region Team following a season in which Cathedral finished with a 4-6 record but won three out of their last four games.

Green Wave quarterback Preston Edwards, wide receiver Braxton Fondren, linebacker and strong safety Daniel Culbert and defensive end and linebacker Stowers Mohon were named to the first team.

Linebacker Jesse Morrison, wide receiver Daniel Jenkins, offensive lineman Josh Gamberi and defensive lineman Skylar Bacon were named to the second team.

“I’m proud to get those four guys on the first team, especially in such a tough district,” Cathedral coach Craig Beesley said. “We struggled at the beginning of the season but we turned it around down the stretch. That’s a testament to our seniors.”
