ROXIE — Funeral services for Martha Elizabeth Davis McDaniel, 84, who died Friday Jan. 4, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Union Baptist Church in Roxie, the Rev. Andy McDaniel officiating.

Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery in Roxie, under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at Union Baptist Church at 10 a.m. today until service time.

She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Franklin County, the daughter of R.A. and Beulah Matthews McDaniel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Luther Davis; sisters, Audrey Spring, Allie Corban and Alma Steele.

Survivors include her husband, L.W. McDaniel; two sons, Dennis McDaniel and his wife Virginia, Lloyd McDaniel and his wife; Deborah; two daughters, Joan Brumfield and Shirley McDaniel all of Roxie; 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Dorothy Davis of Natchez, Addie Bell Cutrer of Roseland, La., Chloe McDaniel of Denham Springs, La., and Betty McDaniel of Clinton, La.; one brother-in-law, Alton Warren also of Roseland La.

Pallbearers will be Scott Brumfield, Craig Brumfield, Jason Brumfield, Mac McDaniel, George “Bubba” Nick Jr. and Willie Harvard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Cole, Dust Reeves and Justin King.
