NATCHEZ — An unlocked vehicle was stolen from Main Street Sunday and later crashed outside the city limits.

The owner parked the car outside her workplace at 11 a.m. The keys were left inside the car.

At 2 p.m. at Mississippi Highway Patrolman called her saying the car was involved in an accident.

The Natchez Police Department report says the highway patrol attempted to stop the vehicle on the highway before it crashed. The driver ran away on foot and the crashed car was recovered.
