Natchez soccer whips Jim Hill in district games

JACKSON — The Natchez Lady Bulldogs put an absolute beatdown on the Jim Hill Lady Tigers, thrashing them 10-0 in Wednesday night soccer action.

Erica Singleton opened the scoring early with a goal just three minutes into the game.

The Lady Bulldogs kept the scoring going when Jadtrl Heard scored a minute later and Singleton struck again five minutes after that.

Shelby Guice then joined the barrage with a goal in the 18th minute before Heard netted her second goal in the 24th minute.

Guice ended the first half scoring with a goal in the 26th minute to make it 6-0 at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs wasted no time getting going again in the second half as Heard scored her first hat trick of the season just 28 seconds into the second half.

Makenzi Taylor scored her first goal of the season a few minutes later to make it 8-0.

Starting goaltender Triyonna Green scored her first goal of the season midway through the half and Guice closed out the scoring in the 27th minute as she also recorded a hat trick.

Natchez boys 7, Jim Hill 1

Kent Calvit had four goals and Ross Smith had three as the Bulldogs turned a close game at halftime into a rout.

Calvit got the scoring started early in the first half but Jim Hill’s Zachary Patton tied the score midway through the half.

Ross Smith scored late in the half to give Natchez a 2-1 lead at the break.

The Bulldogs came out inspired in the second half and quickly took control of the game.

Smith scored off an assist from Josh West in the sixth minute and Calvit scored again in the 17th minute to expand the lead.

Smith scored one minute later off a pass from Calvit and Calvit scored a goal of his own five minutes after that.

Smith got the final goal of the night for the Bulldogs in the 38th minute to give Natchez the six-goal victory over the Jim Hill Tigers.
