Vidalia — Hearts, flowers and boxes of chocolates — February is the month renown for romance.
Romance will certainly be in the air during the February 7 performance of “Love Songs” to be presented by Lisa Lee McCalmon and Corey Trahan, with Richard Seiler on the piano. The event will be in the lobby area of Concordia Bank & Trust in Vidalia at 7 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.
This promises to be yet another spectacular event presented by the Concordia Parish Library and sponsored by the Louisiana State Arts Council and the Louisiana Division of the Arts, and administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana.
McCalmon, Trahan and Seiler will share their distinct love of music and entertaining during the evening, with a selection of 19 show tunes that trace the journey of most relationships: the initial meeting, the “chase,” the “catch,” the commitment and the inevitable triumphs, hardships and the power of reconciliation. The entire concert is intertwined with humor, making the event all the more fun and enjoyable for all attending.
This marks the third season that McCalmon and Trahan have worked together, as well as performed for the Concordia Parish Library audiences, all to great reviews. The two have also performed together in two Pops Concerts with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra and learned to dance together in the Strauss Theater’s production of “Singin’ in the Rain.”
They have additionally performed together in three concert tours throughout Louisiana and been the guest artists at the Four Seasons, and have collaborated with four pianists and held mini-concerts for civic and private functions.
The Concordia Parish Library Board of Directors takes great pleasure in inviting the public to enjoy a night of romance and roses during this one-of-a-kind performance.
