Cummings wins Soil & Water poster contest

Cloi Cummings, a kindergarten student at Ferriday Lower Elementary recently competed in the local Soil & Water Conservation District poster contest sponsored by the Tensas-Concordia SWCD, where she won first place in the K-1 category.
Cummings’ poster was then sent in to the Louisiana Association of Conservation District’s State Poster Contest and on Nov. 27 it was announced that she won first place in the state contest.
She will receive a $100 savings bond for winning the state contest and has received $100 for winning the local contest. Her poster has been entered into the National Association of Conservation District’s National Poster Contest. The winners will be announced in February.
The annual poster contest is open to all students in Concordia and Tensas parish schools in grades K-12.
