FERRIDAY — Ferriday Police responded to a report of a knife point robbery Monday evening.
The robbery reportedly took place near the 200 block of Alabama Avenue.
The suspects, identified as two young black males, took the victim’s purse, which had an unidentified amount of cash and assorted items in it, Police Chief Richard Madison said.
The victim received several lacerations on her hand as a result of the robbery, but none of them were serious.
“A cut on the hand shows she was defending herself,” Madison said. “They could have stabbed her in the chest.”
Investigators were able to obtain surveillance video from a nearby camera at Kaye’s Food Mart.
The police are in the process of identifying the two subjects, and arrests are expected to follow, Madison said.
“We are working this with all due diligence,” he said.
