NATCHEZ — It was Trinity’s night, that’s for sure.

Coming off of a huge win over Prairie View last Friday, the Trinity Lady Saints kept rolling in a 61-22 win over the ACCS Lady Rebels.

“Everyone contributed tonight,” Trinity head coach Melanie Hall said.

The Lady Rebels were within two points after the first quarter, but the Lady Saints used a 24-0 run to keep ACCS scoreless in the second quarter and take a 31-8 lead at the half.

“We were semi-competitive in the early part of the game,” ACCS head coach Paul Hayles said. “It just went their way.”

Trinity then used a strong second half to build up a larger lead that ACCS couldn’t overcome.

“We have a lot of depth which helped us out tonight,” Hall said. “But we give God the glory for everything.”

Caroline Ketchings led the Lady Saints with 18 points. Molly Butts added 14.

Marlee Wadsworth was the leading scorer for the Lady Rebels with eight points.

Trinity boys 87, ACCS 36

The story was similar for the boys game as Trinity rolled over the ACCS Rebels in a district game Tuesday night.

The Rebels played close with the Saints in the first quarter, but the second quarter belonged to Trinity.

Trinity came out swinging, netting 37 points in the second quarter alone while holding ACCS to 12.

After the break, Trinity continued to dominate and put up 18 points over the struggling Rebels.

ACCS had poor shot selection all night while Trinity used offensive rebounds to their advantage and made shots when it counted.

Trinity remains undefeated in district play after taking the season series with ACCS.

“ACCS played hard all the way to the end,” Trinity head coach David King said. “Our depth really helped us. It was good to get our reserves some extra playing time.”

Brandon Daggs and Andrew Johnson were the leading scorers for the Saints with 19 points each. Bryant Pearson added 13.

Phillip Breland led ACCS with 12 points and Luke Brumfield added nine.
