Dale named chairman of the Concordia Bank board

VIDALIA — John Dale IV, who has been a director of Concordia Bank & Trust Co. since 1993 was elected chairman of the board on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
He succeeded Joe Pasternack Jr., who retired. The board election came after the annual meeting of the bank’s stockholders.
He is the fourth member of the Dale family to serve as a director on the Concordia Bank & Trust Co. Board. Dale’s father, John Dale III, his grandfather, John Dale Jr., and his great grandfather Judge John Dale, all served on the bank’s board. Dale’s grandfather and great grandfather served as Chairman from 1914-1979.
A native of Vidalia, Dale’s career has been in real estate and oil and gas. He is co-founder and president of Cedar Creek Corporation, a timberland investment brokerage firm and president and chairman of the board of Energy Drilling Company, an oil and gas drilling company.
In 1987, Dale was named Soil, Air and Water Conservationist of the Year for Mississippi. He is also the co-founder of Leadership Natchez.
A 1965 high school graduate of Portsmouth Abbey in Portsmouth, R.I., Dale has a bachelor’s of arts from Duke University, Durham, N.C., 1969, and a graduate degree from Oxford University, Oxford, England, 1971. He has a juris doctorate degree from the LSU Law School, 1976.
Dale is married to the former Priscilla Stout. He has four children, Lara Griffiths, Peter Dale, Emily Dale and Hunter Dale and three grandchildren, Kris Griffiths, Lani Griffiths and Alex Dale.
