FERRIDAY – Services for Sherrie Skipper Guthrie, 53, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ferriday Church of God with the Rev. Paul Burress officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Guthrie was born Jan. 31, 1954, in Newellton, La., the daughter of Luther Sr. and Ruth Skipper. She was employed with Hansel and Gretel Day Care. Mrs. Guthrie formerly owned and operated Cottage Grocery. She was a member of Ferriday Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Guthrie; parents; and one brother, James Skipper.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathrine Ann Green and husband, Greg, and Michelle Louise Guthrie, all of Natchez; three sisters, Louise Welborn of Hammond, La., Allene Hoss of DeRidder, La., and Mary White of Ferriday; and three brothers, Luther Skipper Jr., Raymond Skipper and Bobby Skipper, all of Waterproof, La.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
