FERRIDAY — Not much has changed from Dano’s 2006 perfect Concordia Bass Club year of 880 points…except he waxed pros at Red River to win a super bass rig.

The club started its 2008 year on the low cold sub 50 degree waters of Lake St. John near Ferriday January 26th under calm cloudy skies.

Danny “Team Triton” Smith of Monterey hammered the 24 other anglers by fooling the only 5 bass limit. The weight was a hefty 19 pounds which was way ahead of second place John “Team Go-Mart” Bruce of Vidalia with 3 for 10 pounds.

Ronnie Gillespie took 3rd with 2 for 9 pounds but the big news was he caught a 7 pound monster toad for the daily lunker.

This is the biggest bass weighed in competition the past few years.
