WCCA gets hands-on lessons

The science and math departments at WCCA emphasized many hands-on labs. Recently the Biology I class simulated the stages of mitosis and cell division. They also examined microscope preparations to observe the mitosis process in plant and animal cells. The chemistry classes learned to balance chemical equations and explored the four basic types of chemical reactions in the lab. The geometry class made hypsometers and used them to measure the flag pole and tallest trees on campus. They compared these findings to using similar triangles and shadows.
Mrs. Lauri Benton’s Fine Arts classes are studying the color wheel. Her students are learning how to mix different colors on the wheel.
On Monday, Jan. 28, Brother Bernard Waites of Corinth Church of Christ in Buffalo delivered the devotion for the 7th through 12th grade students. WCCA is always happy to have Brother Waites back on our campus to give us words of wisdom and encouragement.
WCCA thanks all those who gave blood to the biennial blood drive.
